Comments: Surf Harp are not a surf rock band FYI. The Baltimore-based five-piece band plays their own version of industrial post punk. Ala, if Parquet Courts and Omni got together for a experimental jam session. And jam they do. Where those two bands primarily stick to shorter, 3 minutes songs, Surf Harp extends this song to almost five and a half minutes, an otherworldly jam that never gets boring and keeps the listener on their toes throughout. On “Catholic Glass”, the band’s art rock is a journey featuring everything from swirling guitars, to raucous scuzzy tones, layered melodies, with rollicking rhythms and a frightful punk attitude, ready to take on the world. Put your headphones on for this one folks, but try not to burst right out of them with “Catholic Glass”. You probably don’t need to be sitting down for this one.
