JUST LISTEN: The Nude Party “Chevrolet Van”
The Deets:
Who: The Nude Party
Song: “Chevrolet Van”
Appears On: “Chevrolet Van” is one of three songs recently released by The Nude Party. The other two being “Records” and “Water on Mars.” from their self titled album due out July 6th via New West Records.
Current Location: Catskill Mountains, NY
Info: The Nude Party have signed with New West Records and are set to release their self-titled debut album on July 6, 2018. The 11-track set was produced by the band’s mentor and friend, Oakley Munson of Black Lips, and demonstrates their raw and effortless synchronicity that developed from learning how to play their instruments together since their teens. An inseparable gang of blood brothers bonded by a musical mission indistinguishable from their friendship, the band back in Boone, NC, have lived as one unit in house after house for six years, honing their sound and aesthetic. This uncanny chemistry is exhibited throughout the music video for the album’s first single.
Comments: The Nude Party makes it impossible to stop yourself from grooving around while listening to “Chevrolet Van.” The advantage of having a sextet is that there will always be a wider range of sounds in each song. The song starts out with open chords on an acoustic guitar while the pedal steel guitar works its way in. The pace picks up whenever the piano chimes in and that’s when the song takes off. The overall high energy of this song will leave you out of breath from either screaming the lyrics or dancing too much (if that’s even a thing).
This song not only has a catchy melody, but the lyrics are relatable to almost everyone. The band is attempting to show people through the lyrics that there will always be people in your life telling you that chasing your dreams is not practical, but they aren’t right. The Nude Party is stressing not to take life so seriously and to always have a good time. No one wants to work a nine to five the rest of their lives, so why do it? ~Written by Tenley Bailey
