On New Music Tuesday we take a look at the new, notable, and interesting new releases from Friday’s new album releases. On this New Music Tuesday, the new releases are coming out in full force with a ton of new music worth your ears.
On first listen, there are a few new releases that immediately stand out. Adrian Younge‘s new album, Something About April II, features 70’s sounds with analog synths and classic soul sounds with Laetitia Sadier (of Stereloab) as well as Bilal and Raphael Saadiq and other collaborators. The Besnard Lakes‘ latest album A Coliseum Complex Museum continues their exploration of ethereal psychedelic, progressive pop sounds. Blouse lead singer Charlie Hilton has released her compelling debut solo album Palana. And of course you can’t forget the man that never stops, Ty Segall, back with his latest Emotional Mugger with a backing band of powerhouse guitarists.
Two albums featured on our 15 Debut Albums To Look Forward To were released Friday with Coasts long-awaited self titled full length and Eliot Sumner‘s Information. Chairlift is back with their latest Moth, and while they may be venturing further into radio friendly pop with exceptional beats, they don’t give up their artistry for a hit, still keeping it quite interesting and compelling.
If rock ‘n’ roll, punk, post punk is your type, there some good ones for you including Savages latest Adore Life, Fat White Family‘s Songs for our Mothers, and former …And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead lead singer Conrad Keely has released Original Machines.
A few other highlights include King Charles‘ long-awaited sophomore album Gamble for a Rose, Aidan Knight‘s Each Other, Aoife O’Donovan‘s In the Magic Hour, From Indian Lakes‘ Wanderer EP, and The Cactus Blossoms‘ You’re Dreaming.
