The countdown to Shaky Knees is on! The festival – celebrating its 10th anniversary — takes place from May 5-7. For those of you who missed the chance to buy the now sold-out three-day pass, this year’s lineup of late-night shows has officially dropped and tickets are sold separately.
All late-night show tickets go on sale tomorrow, Friday, March 10 at 10 a.m. So to help you make your choice, here are our top five picks for late-night shows:
🍑 Peaches: Get ready for a wild ride when the electrifying, sensational, and sexually charged Canadian musician and performance artist Peaches plays Terminal West on Friday night.
Peaches remains an iconic rebel, smashing stereotypes and challenging societal norms for more than two decades. With themes of gender, sexuality, and identity, she’s a true feminist and an underground queer icon.
Date: 11 p.m. Friday, May 5; Location: Terminal West – 887 West Marietta St NW C
⚡️ The Mars Volta with Teri Gender Bender: If you’re a fan of progressive rock, Texas’ The Mars-Volta are bringing intricate compositions and electric energy to Heaven at The Masquerade. Opening act Teri Gender Bender is a force of nature, known for her powerful vocals and high-energy performances.
Date: 11 p.m. Friday, May 5; Location: The Masquerade – Heaven – 1310 White St SW
🖤 The Black Angels: Prepare to be transported to another dimension by The Black Angels, the American psychedelic rock mainstays. The Black Angels have been icons in the psych rock scene, churning out consistent, hypnotic, driving and politically-charged rock and roll for nearly two decades.
Drawing from influences like 1960s garage rock, shoegaze, and drone music, The Black Angels have created a truly immersive sonic experience that’s all their own. Very few bands can compete with The Black Angels catalog and live performance quality, across all of rock and roll.
Date: 11 p.m.Saturday, Mar. 6; Location: The Loft at Center Stage – 1374 W Peachtree St NW
🤟 Pond: Get ready to melt your face at Pond, the psychedelic rock band from Perth, Australia. With a revolving line-up that’s centered around lead singer and guitarist Nick Allbrook alongside Jay Watson, Shiny Joe Ryan, Jamie Terry, and James Ireland, Pond brings an electric energy that gets crowds moving. You might recognize some familiar faces from fellow Perth-based psychedelic rock/pop band Tame Impala, as the two groups have a long history of collaboration and friendship. NME called 9 – Pond’s latest studio album – “dazzling…psych-pop to the edges of what’s possible.”
Date: 11 p.m. Saturday, Mar. 6; Location: Vinyl at Center Stage – 1374 W Peachtree St NW
🎸 The Walkmen: Now this is a reunion tour not to miss! The Walkmen were one of most important and beloved bands to come out of the early 2000’s indie rock scene in New York City. But after their sixth album Heaven (2012 Fat Possum/Bella Union), the band went on an “extreme hiatus” in 2013 with their last show together in 2014. While band members Hamilton Leithauser, Peter Matthew Bauer, Walter Martin, Paul Maroon, and Matt Barrick have continued to leave their mark in the indie world since, The Walkmen have a special kind of magic together that will be on full display at Terminal West. It’s a short run in April/May for this reunion. Don’t miss out.
