Shaky Knees Music Festival returns October 22nd-24th to Atlanta’s Central Park for their 2021 edition featuring headliners Foo Fighters, Run The Jewels, and The Strokes. Today the festival announced the lineups for their Late Night Shows occurring at venues around the city after the festival has ended each night. Plus there are three shows on Thursday night at The Masquerade to kick things off early before the festival begins.
The Shaky Knees Late Night Shows are totally separate from the festival itself. A festival ticket will not permit access to any of these shows. You can purchase tickets to the Shaky Knees Late Night Shows here. Tickets go on sale Thursday, 8/12 at 10:00am EST. A lot of these shows will sell out really fast, so don’t sleep in.
If you aren’t able to attend all three days of festival, but still want to catch some of the artists playing, these shows just may give you the chance! Or perhaps once the full festival schedule comes out, you may realize it’s going to be hard to see all the artists you want during the fest. Conflict solved. Catch one during the fest, then the other at a Late Night Show and keep the party going late into the night.
In past years there have been Late Night Shows with some artists who weren’t actually playing the festival itself, but this year there is even more, just adding to the festival’s reach. The Thursday night Kick Off shows at The Masquerade all feature artists not actually playing the fest itself, with only Noga Erez on the actual lineup. Then there is shows with JPEGMAFIA and Hobo Johnson, plus the one that immediately sticks out to us: rising Brooklyn art punk, 5 piece band Gustaf who will be joining Idles (Idles will be playing the festival on Saturday) in Hell at The Masquerade on Friday night. That is going to be one massively insane show, but you already knew that if you caught Idles at SK19. Gustaf has only released a few singles to date, yet it’s already clear this is a band to catch opening for the UK punks Idles.
Other Shaky Knees Late Night shows that immediately stuck out to us: Portugal. The Man at The EARL, also on Friday night. You won’t catch this band at a venue this size these days, which will no doubt bring magic back in the back room over in EAV. And then there is also The Hives making their way to Center Stage on Friday night. Decisions….
Saturday night may just have to be Modest Mouse in Heaven at the Masquerade, then again, there is Orville Peck at Terminal West, or even Delta Spirit at The EARL. Damn, it’s going to be a hell of a Shaky Knees Festival in 2021! Here’s your 2021 Shaky Knees Late Night Shows, which ones will you be at?!?!:
Tickets to the 2021 Shaky Knees Late Night Shows on sale at 10am EST on Thursday, 8/12
