Tame Impala have announced the name of their new album, Currents, the follow up to one of 2012’s best albums Lonerism. A release date hasn’t been set just yet, but the Australian psych band has released a new single off the upcoming album. The groovy ‘Cause I’m A Man is the first proper single, and the second track released from Currents, following the over 8 minute long jam Let It Happen.
‘Cause I’m A Man shows a different side of the band, something that could still fit somewhat on Lonerism but a little less rock, more of a groovy slowed down synth line. It’s hits so good, and is already on repeat over and over here.
Based on the two songs we have heard so far, Currents will not be a disappointment and is setting up to be one of the year’s best albums.
Tame Impala has found it’s way and is setting up to be one of the greatest bands on the planet. They are heading out on tour starting this week playing some of the best festivals around, including headlining Sunday night at our own Shaky Knees Festival.
