Vada Vada! Orange County brothers, Wyatt and Fletcher Shears almost tore down Market Hotel last week in Brooklyn. In the middle of their four month tour for their new album Mirror Might Steal Your Charm, The Garden brought the intensity to the sold out crowd.
Coming off successful short track, bass and drum heavy albums such as their self titled 2013 release The Garden and The Life and Times Of A Paperclip, it was refreshing to see how well their evolved 90’s hip hop influenced style was received. Such high energy throughout the show; the moshing, crowd surfing, bouncing floors ensured everyone left the show with a sweat.

Opening for The Garden, garage pop / surf rock group The Tijuana Panthers had the crowd amped from the start. With the J,M,Z subway line passing directly outside of the window behind the stage, the New York setting mixed with a Southern California sound somehow worked so perfectly. Ending their set saying “This was our most well received New York show ever” confirmed just that.
