ON OUR RADAR: Atlanta Shows to Catch in March 2023

0

Spring is finally in the air, and we’ve got some seriously cool live music lined up for you. So grab your tickets and get ready for an unforgettable night of music at these can’t-miss shows:

🎤 TWINS (Full Band Debut): TWINS is a synthpop and cold wave project created by Atlanta-based producer, label operator, and visual artist Matt Weiner. He founded TWINS in 2008 and has spent over a decade perfecting his unique blend of seductive synth-pop, melancholic new wave, and industrial-dance grooves. We can’t wait to see the project come to life with a full live band debut at 529!

Other performances of the night include Erik Marcel, TAVES, and DJ Yasmine

Date: 9 p.m. Thursday, Mar. 9; Location: 529 – 529 Flat Shoals Ave SE

🌸 True Blossom: Discover the mesmerizing sounds of True Blossom, a band that emerged from Atlanta’s vibrant underground synth-pop scene in 2017. Their debut album, Heater, and their second album In Bliss are both a delightful fusion of disco, city-pop, and classic indie that will leave you wanting more.

And bonus! Three amazing bands (Lobby Boy, Drook, and Nina Garbus) will also perform. Talk about a bang for your buck on a Saturday night.

Date: 8 p.m. Saturday, Mar. 10; Location: Boggs Social & Supply – 1310 White St SW

🤟 King Tuff: Since King Tuff’s debut album, Was Dead, graced our ears in 2008, we’ve been hooked on his sweet garage rock grooves. Even now, “Sun Medallion” from that album still resonates with us. It’s safe to say that Kyle Thomas’ music, emanating from his eccentric persona, is truly timeless. While his latest album, Smalltown Stardust, may not be as garage rock-oriented, it’s still just as dazzling, adorned with plenty of 1970s references.

Opening for King Tuff is Tchotchke, who we are equally just as excited to see! The bewitching band’s self-titled debut album is out now, with visuals just as tantalizing as the album’s tracks.

Date: 8 p.m.Saturday, Mar. 18; Location: The EARL – 488 Flat Shoals Ave SE
