Looking for a good time this weekend with great food and good music? And for the low price of $35 over two days? The 10th annual summer festival at Atlanta’s Candler Park returns this Friday and Saturday keeping it’s cozy, neighborhood festival vibes, while continuing to bring lineups with name artists and homegrown talent. The Candler Park Music and Food Festival has been entertaining Candler Park for 10 years now while supporting the City of Atlanta Parks, Atlanta ContactPoint and Candler Park neighborhood 501c(3) organizations with portions of the proceeds going to those organizations.

Gates open at 4pm Friday, June 1st and the party kicks off at 5pm with Grand, the Terrapin Battle of the Bands winner. Atlanta natives Larkin Poe take the stage after Grand helping to get the fest underway. Larkin Poe are a badass sister duo with a gritty southern rock meets pop vibe. Closing down Friday is Lettuce, a group of exceptional musicians that bring the funk with their 7 piece jam band.
Charleston, South Carolina’s SUSTO plays Candler Park Music and Food Festival on Saturday at 5:15pm. SUSTO released their sophomore LP, & I’m Fine Today last year and just recently toured with the Lumineers. SUSTO is touring across the states this summer before heading to Europe. Not only was & I’m Fine Today one of the year’s best albums, but if you’ve ever caught the band live in the past, you know this is the must catch set of the weekend. If you have never seen them, Saturday is the perfect chance to see what all the fuss is about.

Also on tap for Saturday is alternative/indie group Houndmouth that in my opinion have some punk rock roots seen especially live once the group really gets going in their set. Houndmouth just released a new single “This Party” so you can look forward to hearing the new single and potentially some more new material from this crew. Closing down the 10th annual Candler Park Music and Food Festival is festival legends Gov’t Mule. The southern rock and roll group headed by The Allman Brothers guitarist, Warren Haynes, have been together for over 20 years now and are still captivating crowds to this day.

Not only will the Candler Park Festival have tasty jams but also there will be plenty of tasty food for all palates. Over 20 different food vendors and food trucks will be out to satisfy any cravings. The Pup Truck, King of Pops, and Sweet Auburn BBQ will be out at the festival. And there are vegan options too. Highly recommend Bento Bus for some fresh Japanese options that will hit the spot.
Besides just the music and good food options in the food village, there will also be an artist market, cocktail bar, and adult field games. There is also the Terrapin Brew Lounge which will offer an expanded selection of rare choices from the Athens brewery. It’s the perfect neighborhood festival, joined by 20,000 of your favorite neighbors.
So come on out to the 10th annual Candler Park Music and Food Festival. It will be fun that you can feel good about as you are helping to support our local parks. And ride your bike if you can. There will be a bike valet on site to guard your wheels.
You can pick up tickets here. Jump on those tickets quick before another price increase on 6/1 at midnight. Besides general admission two day passes, there are also VIP options available and single day tickets.
