This week we take back over our Monomania playlist with 6 new tracks that we just can’t get enough of. Check out our latest songs we’ve got stuck on repeat, and make sure to subscribe to our Spotify Monomania playlist at the bottom:

Angel Olsen – “Sister”

This song slays me. Angel Olsen‘s upcoming new album, MY WOMAN, out Spetember 2nd on Jagjaguwar, is poised to be one of the year’s best albums, no doubt based on the first three singles released so far. “Sister,” the latest that dropped last week, is another stunner where Angel again shows off her vocal ability that at times has a Stevie Nicks quality, but the thing that makes her one of today’s best vocalists is how you can feel the emotion of the song purely in her voice. It’s perfect. Add in Angel showing off her guitar skills, and wow, this song is perfection.

Bon Iver – “33 “GOD””

The first official single from the new upcoming Bon Iver record, 22, a Million, makes it clear Justin Vernon’s time off from Bon Iver, spent casually playing around on other projects like Kayne and James Blake, helped shape the new record. With samples from the likes of Paulo Nutini, Lonnie Holley, the Browns, and Sharon Van Etten, how can you not just put this song on repeat and dive into it’s many layers?

Local Natives – “Coins”

Another new Local Natives song, of course it’s on repeat. The newest track, released yesterday, from the band’s upcoming third LP, Sunlit Youth (Sept. 9), is a shimmering new soulful song that builds upon what the band has done in the past.

Miya Folick – “Pet Body”

Simply put, LA singer songwriter, Miya Folick rocks on “Pet Body”! You are going to want to turn this one up, and jump right into the surf punk melodies and sing along with Miya’s sweeping vocals: “I’m just a brain with a pet body / I’m just a feeling in the room /Just a finger on a trigger / On a Friday afternoon”

No One Mind – “Tiger”

No One Mind is a new Raleigh based project that is a collaboration between Missy Thangs (The Love Language, Birds of Avalon), Ellis Anderson, and Noah Dehmer. They began writing the material for this record as a response to the bitter dissolution of a previous musical project. A “revenge album” they’ve called it, the first single “Tiger” from their upcoming self titled debut (September 9th via Third Uncle Records) has an intense, fast paced rhythm that makes you feel the revenge within. It’s one of those songs you want to pump your first into the air too, but careful when driving, you may just get caught speeding on this one….

Shampoo – “Inside Out (All That I Want)”

The second single from Atlanta based Shampoo‘s debut LP Terrible Heat (August 19th via Bear Kids Recordings), is another example of how great the small, but growing underground synth pop scene brewing in Atlanta is. These days synth pop can be a crowded space, but with bands like Shampoo, Breathers, Dots., and Culture Culture, it seems like Atlanta is at the forefront of experimental synth pop that can otherwise prove lazy nationally. “Inside Out (All That I Want)” has a decidedly 80’s edge, that just grooves you to the core, as you glide along with the song. It’s extremely infectious, and hard not to love.
