There’s a rock ‘n’ roll revival bursting out of Central Florida these days, and Orlando-based Someday River is ready to lead the charge with their new single “Over The Weather”, which we are excited to premiere today.
Someday River is an experimental folk rock project and art platform envisioned by Greyson Charnock in the spring of 2015. The three piece band of Greyson (Guitar, Vocals, Synth), Sean Boyle (Percussion), Kyle Fournier (Bass), have released a few EPs over the last few years, showing growth with each new release. The band has always added a psychedelic element to their folk rock. It seems with “Over The Weather”, the band has perfected that formula and is ready to announce themselves to a much wider audience.
Living in Central Florida casts a wide net of influences from just being in the deep south, to being surrounded by transplants from all over the country, to beaches, swamps, forests, and of course the weather and the threats of Hurricanes that the region always has in the back of it’s mind. These regional influences seem to have really come together with “Over The Weather” that will resonate from coast to coast. There’s just enough southern rock to the new track to perk up any longstanding true bitter southerner, yet the psychedelic garage rock side could fit nicely on the legendary west coast indie label, Burger Records. The song sounds as though it came straight out of the 70’s, but with perfectly placed synths and Greyson’s buoyant vocals floating throughout, “Over The Weather” still feels new and modern.
