Israeli duo Lola Marsh have been garnering plenty of hype since their very first single “Sirens” was premiered by Nylon in March of 2015. Since then, the alt-pop duo have gone viral, releasing their debut EP, You’re Mine in January of 2016 before finally releasing their debut album Remember Roses in 2017. As a former romantic couple who wrote and recorded their album post-breakup, Gil Landau (Acoustic & Electric Guitars & Vocals) and Yael Shoshana Cohen (Lead vocals, Percussion, Ukulele) are joined by Mati Gilad (Bass, Vocals), Rami Osservaser (Guitar, Keyboards & Vocals), Dekel Dvir (Drums, Vocals), and Ran Gil (Keyboards) to form a 6-piece band who have not only garnered millions of streams, but have been widely praised for their live performances as far back as Primavera Sound in 2014.
The Tel Aviv-based band lies somewhere between indie folk and electro-pop behind Yael’s Ukulele and raspy, yet sultry and soulful vocals. Add in heartfelt lyrics with a high level of romanticism, Lola Marsh is liable to envoke a lot of dancing, and heavy sing alongs at any moment. Tonight, the band are about to kick off their first US headlining tour in Brooklyn before heading down the East Coast towards their highly anticipated appearance at SXSW (NPR: The Austin 100).
