PHOTOS: An Intimate Night With EZTV + Sam Evian @ Elsewhere 7/15/18

Sunday night in Brooklyn presented both Sam Evian and EZTV at Elsewhere’s Zone One. EZTV is recognizable from being from the same label that has also hosted indie mainstays Wild Nothing, Mac Demarco and many more, Captured Tracks. Sam Evian has paved his own way as well after having success as a producer under his birth name Sam Owens. Both artists together, brought a perfect wind down to end the weekend.

Inside the small Brooklyn music venue, EZTV’s Ezra Tenenbaum and company came out of the woodwork after mostly keeping it low-key so far in 2018. They brought alongside them new music to debut to the New York crowd. Along with songs from Calling Out and High in Place, the band also performed the new singles “Moonlit Miles” and “Daytime”. The set ended with “The Light”. The set was both relaxing and enthralling, providing a stellar kickstart to the night.

Stepping onto the stage next was Sam Evian. Growing from a studio space engineering and producing albums, Sam Owens needed his own creative outlet, and Sam Evian was the solution. Now touring behind his sophomore albumYou, Forever (June 1st, 2018 via Saddle Creek), he brought along a full cast of band members. The dreamy air of Owen’s production perfectly blended with the periodic guitar solos of his bandmates. Mid-set, Sam brought out a Saxophone to fill out the ending of “Anything”. The setlist never lost momentum and ended with the self-titled track off of his album ‘You, Forever’.

Relaxation was the front-runner at the Sam Evian and EZTV concert on Sunday night. Both provided soothing and dreamy performances. Both bands will be heading in different directions after this show. EZTV is going on tour with Ex-Hex and Sam Evian is departing to tour the U.S and parts of the U.K.
